Welcome to the home page of Perkiomen Valley Trout Unlimted. We represent about 200 anglers in the Upper Perkiomen Valley and we're a member of Trout Unlimited a national organization of over 150,000 members and about 400 chapters. Members are committed to protecting the cold water resources of the Perkiomen Valley. The watershed drains 33 square miles and is the largest tributary to the Schuylkill River.

General Membership Meeting Information

Membership Meetings - Perkiomen Valley Trout Unlimited general Membership Meetings are held every 3rd Tuesday of the month between the months of September and May, starting at 7:30pm in the Upper Perkiomen Valley Free Library Community Room at the Upper Perkiomen Valley Library 350 Main Street Red Hill, PA 18076.

All meeting activities and programs are announced in our quarterly Newsletters and are also available on our home page under the Calendar of Events tab. Board meetings are held for approximately 1 hour prior to the general membership meeting at 6:30.

2012 Speaker Schedule

February 21- “What Do Trout Drink?” Ever thought about what a trout contends with in the way of water quality? Drew Hood, Director Water/Wastewater Services for Keystone Engineering will present on how wastewater impacts water quality. Drew is a member of Perkiomen Valley TU.
March 20-“(LCCs) North Atlantic and Appalachian Landscape Conservation Cooperative”. Speaker Tai Chang of the EPA. This program is eco-speak for defining, designing, and delivering landscapes that can sustain natural and cultural resources at desired levels nation-wide such as Eastern Brook Trout. After our break, Tai will switch gears and offer a few slides of his recent trips to Jackson Hole (2010) and the North Fork (2011). Tai is also a long time member of PVTU.
April 17- “Trout Videographer Don Douple” If you have never seen one of Don Douple’s video programs you do not know what you are missing. Underwater hatch conditions, unsuspecting trout lies, rod bending trophy fish. You will see it all this night. Our conservation raffle will be held during the break. Don currently hails from Bellville, PA but was one of the original founding members of Perkiomen TU. Welcome him back.

Conservation Notes:

Trout In The Classroom: Three schools again participating this year, Perkiomen School, and Spring Ford’s Evans Elementary and Upper Providence Elementary. The latter two schools have released over 100 fingerlings last year.
